Update: Requirements 2023-2025 and closure of tool in 2022
Please note that no new applications will be accepted from 1 November 2022 – 15 January 2023 while the Requirements 2023-2025 are being implemented in the new Application Management Tool. This will not impact applications that are already in progress under the 2020-2022 requirements.

First and foremost, we would like to thank the CoreTrustSeal community for their continued support. Your input into this review of the CoreTrustSeal requirements has been an invaluable tool during this process. The CoreTrustSeal Board has taken three years of experience reviewing applications under the existing guidelines and input from the community to help shape your wishes into these new revisions. Suggested changes to the requirements listed in the community survey were overwhelmingly supported by the survey participants with 78% agreeing with proposed changes on average across the survey. The suggested changes combined with your feedback were shaped into the current final draft version of the new requirements.

As a community we understand that continual review of our policies, processes and procedures is required to ensure we are good stewards of the digital objects we are assigned to protect. With that in mind, we remind you that this is an ongoing process and even as we finish the final minor edits to this version of the requirements, we are always gathering information for the next round of changes. The CoreTrustSeal Board is seeking input for proposed changes to the requirements to take effect for 2023-2025. We value our community members opinions and feel the process of updating these trustworthy data repository requirements will be most successful with as much community participation as possible.
Our community is built around a Peer-to-Peer review process. We help each other protect our data assets for future generations by challenging each other to be the best repositories we can be. We all know that the ever-changing landscape we work in requires periodic review of our requirements and procedures.
The CoreTrustSeal Board appreciates your time and effort in completing this survey and providing valuable feedback on the CoreTrustSeal Requirements.
